Chimney Rock/151 pullout OR Chimney Rock Tavern & RV (18710 US-160, Chimney Rock, CO 81147)
About 20 minutes west of Pagosa, turn south on 151 (Chimney Rock NM "exit"), then meet at pullout
Good view of the pinnacles, roadside pullout; no facillities.
Optional: park outside the gate or visit the monument ($20 entry per car at Visitor Center); access to restrooms, road up to the ridge and paved pathways; views from ridge; gift shop

Take Piedra / CR 600 about 19 miles from downtown Pagosa; parking lot on left, trail runs south along the river.

Scenic views, hiking if interested, river access, restrooms in CG and trailhead parking lot. Can be windy/sunny. Option: park on Taylor Ln. pullout near Upper Piedra Campground, rather than hike to a painting spot.
