June 6

Teal Campground @ Williams Creek Reservoir

26.4 miles from downtown Pagosa; go north on Piedra/CR 600, which turns into 631; pass Bridge CG; turn right on 640, at Wms. Creek CG; Teal is next; park at Day use lot (small fee per vehicle). Camping info: recreation.gov / First come/first served

Inexpensive camping, restrooms, picnic tables, water

La Ventana / South Hatcher shore

Turn left from Piedra (CR 600) at South Shore Estates sign; parking lot & shelter on right

Porta-john, picnic shelter, paved/dirt parking, views, water, fishing dock, trail; Rocky riverbed (dry if past runoff season) and cliff; fishing jetty, lake & mountain views

June 20

Root House Cafe—downtown Pagosa

Take 5th St from 160 (possible construction delays), drive past grow domes and park in Root House lot next to river path

Restrooms & refreshments at Root House; view of Hot Springs resort, river path & benches, “Hippie Dip“

Piedra River Trail

Take Piedra / CR 600 about 19 miles from downtown Pagosa; parking lot on left, trail runs south along the river (https://pagosatrails.org/portfolio/piedra-river-trail-no/)

Scenic views, hiking trail, river access, CG bathroom. Can be windy/sunny. Option: park on nearby Taylor Ln. pullout near Upper Piedra Campground, rather than hike to a painting spot. https://maps.app.goo.gl/4HZezzKYhj7wwfCY9

Drive east from Pagosa toward Treasure Falls, turn left at Bruce Spruce CG sign (231 West Fork Rd.)
