"I favor a 'painterly' approach in my work, in which a recognizable form is achieved, while at the same time the paint itself is celebrated and brushstrokes are not only visible but intrinsic to the success of the piece."

The color and light on a subject are the relationships that interest me and spark my creative energy. I see these relationships in an animal, still life, figure or a plein air landscape. I want to capture the ideal that surrounds us in my paintings. I want to push the edges, inspire the viewer as I was, to become part of the experience, part of the ideal that I see.

For me, it is the process of painting that is the life-blood of why I do this. I find the texture and fluidity of oil paint very sculptural. Each painting is a wonderful discovery of a subject through its' shapes, colors and movement.

Anita Mosher has received awards from national and regional juried shows and has exhibited her paintings nationwide in both solo and group exhibitions. Anita's work hangs in private and corporate collections across the United States and Europe. She does numerous commissions each year.

Anita is a member of the Oil Painters of America. Anita studied at the Boulder Academy of Fine Art with L.V. Davis, (Davis studied with Clive Martindale who was an assistant to John Singer Sargent for 19 years), the Sahli School of Art, (with Don Sahli who was the last apprentice of the famous Russian impressionist colorist Sergei Bongart), and the Art Students League of Denver.

Donating paintings for select charity fundraisers is also one of Anita's priorities. She donates annually to the Mount Evans Hospice, Rocky Mountain PBS, and Art for the Mountain Community.
