August SCHEDULE:

I have rescheduled the sunset paint at the Genz’s house for this month on September 18th. We’ll meet at 5:00 pm at their house. There will be no morning printout in lieu of the evening paint out. Also on Sept 4th, we have the opportunity to tour the Heller house at 8 am before we paint on the grounds that day. Rhonda Gagen, the person I connect with to get permission to paint at Heller, will give us a tour of the home. Usually the house is locked up. Come early if you want the tour. Otherwise, come at 9 am for just painting.

September SCHEDULE:

 Tuesday, September 2, 9:00-12:00. Rock Ledge Ranch. Chambers Way and Pike, Colo. Springs. Park on the south end of the park near Chambers Way and Pike. Paint the historic buildings, pond, farm animals, barns and mountains. Bathrooms available in the carriage house.

Thursday, September 4, 8:00-12:00. Heller Center. 1250 North Campus Heights Drive. If you come at 8 AM, Rhonda Gagen will give us a tour of the adobe house, which is usually locked. Originally it was the home of artist Larry Heller about 100 years ago. It is now owned by UCCS. Bathrooms may be available.

 Tuesday, September 9, 9:00-12:00. Demonstration Gardens. 222 Mesa Road. These are the Horticultural Arts Garden west of the Fine Arts Center. Paint whatever is at bloom, Monument Creek is visible from the trail to the east of the garden, mountain views between the trees. No bathrooms.

Thursday, September 11, 9:00-12:00. Fountain Creek Nature Center. 320 Peppergrass Lane, Fountain. Paint Pikes Peak, pond, streams, trails, etc. Bathroom available in the Nature Center. Bathrooms available in the Nature Center.

 Tuesday, September 16, 9:00-12:00, Glen Eyrie. 3820 North 30th Street. Let the gatekeeper know that you are with the painting group. He will give you a pass. You can park by the carriage house. Paint the castle, carriage house, Queen’s rose garden, rock formations, etc. Bathrooms available in the carriage house.

Thursday, September 18, 5:00 PM -7:30 pm (no morning paint out), Sunset paint at the Genz house, 11960 Oregon Wagon Trail. The Genz’s live five miles north of Falcon. They have a nice view of Pikes Peak.

Tuesday, September 23, 9:00-12:00. Nancy Lewis Park. This park is on the corner of Templeton Gap Road and Melissa Drive. Meet near the duck pond on the east side of the park. Bathrooms available.

Thursday, September 25, 9:00-12:00, Gather Mountain Blooms, 5210 US 85, Fountain. Paint the farmhouse, farm equipment, barns, TB hut, mountains, flowers. Bathrooms available.

Tuesday, September 30, 9:00-12:00. Suzanne’s House. 14 West Cheyenne Road. Paint a lovely Victorian house, lots of flowers, chickens, urban barn, etc. Bathroom available.
